UPDATE: INEC Chair, Jega, 12 National Commissioners locked in crucial, “final” meeting

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega, and his 12 national commissioners are locked in a crucial, and possibly the final meeting for the day, where a decision would be taken on whether to shift this month’s general elections or not. The meeting with the national commissioners began after Mr. Jega concluded his consultation with the 37 Resident Electoral Commissioners [RECs].

BREAKING: 21 INEC Resident Commissioners reject postponement of elections

Twenty one Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, have rejected a proposal to postpone Nigeria’s general elections billed for February 14 and 28.
