Nigeria is a potential world super-power – Emir of Dubai

The Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and the Emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has described Nigeria as the business hub of Africa and a potential world super-power. He made this remark at a recent meeting with the CEO of a Nigerian construction firm, Sujimoto Group, Sijibomi Ogundele, during the latter’s visit to Dubai. The forum was strategically designed to explore investment opportunities and exchange between Nigerian luxury real estate brand, Sujimoto Construction and top Emirati architectural firms.

Nigeria’s U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, are through to the final of the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile as they came from behind to beat Mexico 4-2 in a thrilling semi-final match in the early hours of Friday. The Mexicans had the better start at the Estadio Municipal Ester RoaConcepcion and they were in front after just eight minutes when the Eaglets defence was caught flat-footed and Kevin Magana was gifted the opening goal.

The State Security Service has reacted to reports that it was laying siege on the residence of a former National Security Service in disobedience of a subsisting court order. The service explained why it laid a siege on the former NSA’s home, saying it was not hounding him. “It may be recalled that SAMBO was initially arrested and charged to court for unlawful possession of firearms and money laundering, for which reason his international passport was seized and on the order of the court, returned to the registrar for custody,” the SSS said in the statement.
