Enugu lawmakers move to impeach Gov. Chime
Enugu State lawmakers have commenced impeachment proceedings against Governor Sullivan Chime, over allegations of corruption and misconduct. Fourteen lawmakers, led by the speaker, Eugene Odo, met early Monday and directed the clerk of the assembly to dispatch an impeachment notice to the governor. Mr. Chime and the lawmakers are at war over the governor’s attempt to secure legislative approval for a N11billion loan, just weeks before he leaves office.
