Buhari’s statements de-marketing Nigeria, PDP says

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has drawn the attention of Nigerians to the ‘harmful consequences’ of the unabated negative statements from the very father of the nation, President Muhammadu Buhari, on the economy and the general image of the country. The party said “it is worrisome that in the last six months, the President, instead of making efforts to harness resources and grow the economy, has rather continued to apply himself, perhaps unwittingly, to demarketing the nation and scaring away investors through negative labelling of Nigerians and unwarranted unhealthy portrayal of the nation’s economy”.

President Muhammadu Buhari has replied a statement by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that the president is ‘demarketing’ Nigeria. The PDP, in a statement by its spokesperson, Olisa Metuh, on Sunday said Mr. Buhari was by his various statements making Nigeria unattractive to investors.

Hungarian diplomat gets traditional title in Nigeria

Peter‎ Kondricz, the Commercial Attaché/First Secretary of the Embassy of Hungary in Nigeria, has been honoured with a traditional title- the ‘Jekada of Turakin Kebbi’. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the turbaning ceremony which took place at the NSK Farms Ltd in Keffi, was presided over by Nura Kangiwa, the Turakin Kebbi. The ceremony was followed by cultural show and polo novelty match in honour of Mr. Kondricz.
