Police apprehends robbery syndicate including three graduates

Police operatives in Lagos have smashed two gangs of armed robbers and kidnappers arrested in different areas of the state. While the armed robbers were arrested in Ogun, the kidnappers were nabbed for abducting one Saheed Kolawole, a Director of Scot Hotel at Odonla in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The suspected robbers are: Manven Bali, 40, Cheikube Emeka, 32, Ejike Chukwuemeka, 37, Nura Mohammed, 33, Jacob Ali, 28, Titus Johana, 31, and Richard Augustine, 30.
They were paraded before newsmen on Tuesday by the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Kayode Aderanti, at the State Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
They were arrested by members of the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad led by Abba Kyari, a Superintendent of Police, allegedly attacked a staff of Channels Television, dispossessing her of a Honda CRV.
The stolen vehicle with registration number LSD 322 CK, was among those recovered from the gang. Other item recovered include two locally made double barrel guns, four live cartridges, a Peugeot car with registration number AU 380 KWL; a Toyota Camry- GRZ 42AA, Honda Accord saloon car- KSF 95DB.
Adranti recalled that on January 17, 2015, a case of conspiracy and armed robbery was reported to him by a staff of Channels Television, following which an indebt investigation into the matter was ordered. He noted that on February 2, 2015, at about 5pm, there was a follow up to the complaint earlier made about one Honda CRV Jeep 2013 model belonging to Channels Television was robbed from one of her staff at gun point around Opic Area along Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State. This led to the launch of a massive manhunt by SARS. This led to the arrest of Bali, Emeka and Chukwuemeka by two of its decoy teams led by the Officer-Charge of SARS, Ikeja in Ojodu and Ikorodu Areas of Logos.
The suspects, he continued, admitted snatching the said Honda CRV, belonging to Channels Television; one Honda Cross Tour, belonging to one Adeola Adediran, female; and many other cars within Lagos and Ogun States.
